In this special episode of Designing Spaces, we look at controlling allergens and asthma in the home, and what you can do for members of your family with allergies. Asthma and allergies affect millions of Americans. Today, we present three stories that show homeowners how they can reduce allergens in the home that trigger reactions like asthma. First, we discuss basic home cleaning procedures and what can be done to keep a home clean, from cleaning floors and surfaces to proper bedding for those with allergies and asthma. Then we look at how professional carpet cleaning can remove many deeply ground in allergens, and should be done on a semi-regular basis. Then our third story looks at the day to day week to week cleaning and dusting, by using a qualified HEPA type of vacuum cleaner. With these three topics, viewers should have a very good handle on how to reduce asthma triggers and allergens at home.
