O2 Media’s ‘Designing Spaces’ Popular ‘Think Green’ Series Welcomes Hearth & Home Technologies

(Deerfield Beach, FL- October 2010) The Designing Spaces ‘Think Green’ team is always in search for the latest in energy innovations. Follow their cameras as they travel to Fallston, Maryland to visit Courtland Hearth & Hardware. Owner Richard Thomas and Jeni Forman, Vice President of Dealer Marketing for Quadra-Fire and Harman share with viewers new concepts in pellet fireplaces, stoves and inserts that fit a green, energy efficient lifestyle. Make sure you tune in October 31st, and November 1st and 12th at 9:30am (ET/PT) as they air on WEtv.

Pellet stoves, fireplaces and inserts are similar in appearance to wood-burning appliances, but they burn pellets made of compacted sawdust, wood chips, and other organic materials. They provide heat by burning materials that may otherwise go to a landfill.

Jeni says, “Pellet appliances, like the Quadra-Fire EDGE 60 fireplace, can help control your heating your heating costs. By appearing on the Designing Spaces ‘Think Green’ series, we’ll be able to show viewers the benefits of pellets. For instance, pellet prices are much more predictable than heating oil, propane and other fossil fuels. Pellet stoves, fireplaces and fireplace inserts burn clean with very low outside air particulate emissions, producing far less greenhouse gases.”

When compared to wood-burning fireplaces, pellet inserts are more convenient to operate and have higher heating efficiencies. They burn cleaner than wood stoves, still utilizing renewable energy that’s produced right here in the U.S.

Lysa Liemer, ‘Designing Spaces’ Executive VP of Programming and Chief Operating Officer, says, “We are always exploring exciting topics and trends to inspire viewers to ‘Think Green’, and try to live a more energy efficient lifestyle– and Courtland Hearth & Hardware delivered the perfect solution.”

By using this kind of stove technology and pellet fuel for home heating, you’re not only saving money– but also helping to save the planet.
