On this special episode of Designing Spaces: Spaces of Hope, we’re at the Oscar Mike Foundation compound, a home base for disabled veterans.

The Oscar Mike Foundation has one primary mission: keep injured veterans on the move. The organization provides an outlet to thousands of veterans through life-changing adaptive sports programs, experiences, and other events.

Many of them hang out or live in the Oscar Mike Foundation’s 9,000-square-foot home in Rockford, Ill., which includes 17 beds, an adaptive weight-training room, an outdoor sports court and much more. It serves as a rehabilitation center for veterans and a home base for the foundation. On this episode, Designing Spaces is giving the Oscar Mike Foundation compound a major remodel.

First: To help the Oscar Mike Foundation keep veterans on the move, Ford Motor Company donates an F-250 Super Duty, along with a check for $25,000.

Now, back to the remodel! When Floor & Decor heard the Oscar Mike compound was in need of flooring in the kitchen and bathroom areas, they stepped up.

Then, Arrow Home Products joins in to provide water bottles and other home products. Plus, the experts at DuPont’s Corian to help upgrade the kitchen.

It’s not just the inside we’re upgrading at the Oscar Mike compound. Cue Oelo, a family-owned company that specializes in permanent outdoor lighting.

The renovation wouldn’t be complete without visits from Pet Supermarket and Pet Valu, who together donate a year’s supply of pet food, toys, treats, and other products.
